Anti-Racist Design Justice Index (Design as Protest Collective)

From the Design as Protest Collective - The Data and Research Team within Design As Protest is responsible for gathering raw data and forming coherent databases which can then be adapted by other teams in the DAP Collective and shared as compelling stories in the broader movement towards liberation. Thus far, this work includes two Injustice Datasets, an Anti-Racist Design Justice Index, and the Anti-Racism Design Resources.

The Anti-Racist Design Justice Index is a tool for architects, designers, planners, policy makers and community activist committed to taking action towards identifying and dismantling systemic racism within our practices, organizations, academic institutions, and local governments. The goal of the Index is to achieve justice and liberation within design institutions by holding them accountable to their anti-racist commitments. It provides a visual way to track accountability and resources for guiding concrete actions.
